Description
Pharmacological action
Praziquantel, which is part of the drug, has a wide spectrum of anthelmintic action on all phases of the development of tape helminths, which are parasitic in dogs and cats, causes paralysis and death of the helminth. Praziquantel is absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract of the animal, its maximum concentration in blood plasma is reached after 30-60 minutes.
Indications
For the treatment and prevention of echinococcosis, teniosis, dipylidiosis, diphyllobothriasis, mesocestoid dogs and cats.
Contraindications
The drug should not be used in puppies and kittens younger than 3 weeks of age. Individual intolerance.
Composition
As an active ingredient in 1 tablet contains praziquantel – 50 mg, as well as auxiliary components.
Dosage and administration of Asrdox
for dogs and cats is administered orally individually, once, in the morning with a small amount of feed, or is administered forcibly in a dose of 1 tablet per 10 kg of animal weight.
For cats and dogs weighing less than 5 kg, the drug is used in the form of an aqueous suspension, for the preparation of which 1 tablet is crushed, suspended in 10 ml of water, shaken vigorously and immediately injected into the animal using a syringe without a needle at the rate of 1 ml of suspension per 1 kg of animal weight .
A preliminary fasting diet and laxatives before deworming animals are not required.
For therapeutic purposes, dogs and cats are dewormed according to indications, for prophylactic purposes – quarterly in a therapeutic dose.
Side effects
With increased individual sensitivity of the animal to praziquantel and the appearance of allergic reactions, the use of the drug is discontinued.
Storage conditions
