Antiseptic and anti-inflammatory herbal medicine.
Calendula tincture has an antiseptic, choleretic, antispasmodic and local anti-inflammatory effect.
Indications
Used externally as an antiseptic and anti-inflammatory agent for cuts, bruises, eczema for gargling with inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract (tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, pharyngolaryngitis) and the oral mucosa (stomatitis).
Sometimes calendula tincture is prescribed orally as a choleretic agent.
Contraindications
Increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug.
When administered orally – pregnancy, lactation, age up to 18 years.
Composition
To prepare the preparation use:
Marigold flowers – 100 g
Ethyl alcohol 70% (ethanol) – a sufficient amount to obtain 1 liter of tincture.
Dosage and administration
Areas with superficial damage to the skin (cuts) are treated with tincture using a swab. For bruises and eczema, use an aqueous solution of tincture (1 teaspoon per glass of water) in the form of lotions. To rinse the throat and oral mucosa, use 1 / 2-1 cup of an aqueous solution of tincture.
Inside, as a choleretic agent, 10-20 drops before meals 3 times a day.
Side effects
Allergic reactions possible. When ingested – heartburn, nausea.
Storage conditions
In a dark place at a temperature of 12 to 15 C.
Keep out of the reach of children.
