Pharmacological action
Hexoral – an antiseptic.
The antimicrobial effect of the drug Hexoral ® is associated with the suppression of oxidative reactions of bacterial metabolism (thiamine antagonist).
The drug has a wide range of antibacterial and antifungal effects, in particular against gram-positive bacteria and fungi of the genus Candida, however, Hexoral ® may also have an effect in the treatment of infections caused, for example, by Pseudomonas aeruginosa or Proteus.
At a concentration of 100 mg / ml, the drug suppresses most bacterial strains.
No sustainability development has been observed.
Hexatidine has a weak anesthetic effect on the mucous membrane.
Indications
Inflammatory and infectious diseases of the oral cavity and pharynx.
In the complex treatment of severe febrile or purulent diseases of the oral cavity and pharynx, requiring the appointment of antibiotics and sulfonamides, tonsillitis.
Sore throats (including tonsillitis with lesions of the lateral ridges, tonsillitis of Plaut-Vincent).
pharyngitis.
Gingivitis and bleeding gums.
Periodontopathy (periodontal disease and its symptoms).
Stomatitis (inflammation of the oral mucosa), glossitis (inflammation of the tongue), aphthous ulcers (painful inflammation with superficial tissue defects) in order to prevent superinfection.
Infection of the alveoli (tooth sockets) after tooth extraction.
Fungal infections of the oral cavity and pharynx, especially candidal stomatitis (thrush).
Before and after operations in the oral cavity and pharynx.

Contraindications
Children under 3 years of age hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Dosage and administration
Adults and children 3 years of age and older: Apply topically as a spray in the mouth and throat. A single dose is administered for 1-2 seconds. Unless otherwise specified, apply 2 times / day, preferably in the morning and evening.
Hexatidine adheres to the mucous membrane and therefore gives a lasting effect. In this regard, the drug should be used after meals. Hexoral ® is also safe for more frequent use.
The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor.
Do not use in children under 3 years of age.
General recommendations for the use of
The drug is sprayed into the mouth or throat. Using an aerosol, you can easily and quickly treat affected areas.
The following steps must be performed:
Put the spray nozzle on the aerosol can.
Point the tip of the spray nozzle to the affected area of the mouth or pharynx.
During administration of the drug, the vial should be kept constantly in an upright position, as shown in the figure.
Enter the required amount of the drug by pressing on the nozzle head for 1-2 seconds, do not breathe when aerosol is injected.
Side effects
In some cases: hypersensitivity reactions to the drug.
For prolonged use: taste impairment is possible.
Drug Interaction
The drug interaction of Hexoral ® has not been described.
Overdose
Hexetidine at the specified dosage is non-toxic.
Symptoms: Ingestion of large quantities of the drug leads to vomiting, so no significant absorption is expected.
Treatment: gastric lavage is necessary for 2 hours after swallowing an excess dose. In all cases of overdose, the patient should consult a doctor immediately.

Keep out of the reach of children at a temperature not exceeding 30 ° C.
Expiration
2 years.
The contents of the aerosol container should be used within 6 months of first use.
