Pharmacological action of
Ascorbic acid plays an important role in the regulation of redox processes, carbohydrate metabolism, blood coagulation, tissue regeneration, and increases the body’s resistance.
Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) is not formed in the human body, but comes only with food.
With a balanced and nutritious diet, a person does not experience a deficiency in vitamin C.
Indications
Hypo- and vitamin deficiency C increased demand for ascorbic acid (period of intensive growth, pregnancy, lactation, increased physical activity, period of convalescence).
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Do not administer large doses to patients with increased blood coagulation, thrombophlebitis and a tendency to thrombosis, as well as diabetes mellitus and conditions accompanied by high blood sugar.
Composition

Side effects
Allergic reactions, irritation of the gastrointestinal mucosa (gastrointestinal tract) (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, gastrointestinal spasm) inhibition of the function of the pancreatic insular apparatus (hyperglycemia, glucosuria) when used in high doses of nephrocalcinulose and hypercalcinulia )
Change in laboratory parameters: thrombocytosis, hyperprombinemia, erythropenia, neutrophilic leukocytosis, hypokalemia.
Drug interaction
Ascorbic acid increases the absorption of drugs of the penicillin group, iron.
Overdose
Symptoms: with prolonged use of large doses (more than 1 g) – headache, increased CNS excitability, insomnia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, hyperacid gastritis, gastrointestinal mucosa ulceration, inhibition of the function of the insular apparatus of the pancreas, glucose (hyperg ), hyperoxaluria, nephrolithiasis (from calcium oxalate), damage to the glomerular apparatus of the kidneys, moderate pollakiuria (when taking a dose of more than 600 mg / day).
