Pharmacological action
Pharmacodynamics. Antispasmodic with selective action on the gastrointestinal tract. Inhibits the entry of calcium into the cells of the smooth muscles of the intestine. Animal studies have shown that pinaveria bromide reduces the effects of stimulation of sensitive neurons. It does not have an anticholinergic effect. It does not affect the cardiovascular system.
Pharmacokinetics. After oral administration of pinaveria, bromide is rapidly absorbed and reaches a maximum plasma concentration after one hour. Pinaveria bromide has a high ability to bind to plasma proteins (95-96%). The drug is actively metabolized in the liver. The half-life is 1.5 hours. The absolute bioavailability is very low (less than 1%). It is excreted mainly with feces.

Film coating: basic butyl methacrylate – 16.352 mg, sodium lauryl sulfate – 1.636 mg, talc – 12.946 mg, stearic acid – 2.384 mg, dry sepispers 3203 – 0.682 mg (hypromellose (E 464) – 55.0-65.0%, microcrystalline cellulose (E 460) – 5.015.0%, titanium dioxide (E 171) – 20.0-30.0%, sunset sunset dye yellow (aluminum varnish) (E 110) – 3.0%).
Dosage and administration of
Dietel is prescribed for adults 1 tablet 2 times a day (morning and evening).
If necessary (in exceptional cases), the dose can be increased to 3 tablets per day
Side effects
From the digestive system: rarely – dyspepsia, constipation, nausea.
Other: rarely – allergic reactions.
Overdose
Symptoms: an overdose can lead to gastrointestinal upsets, such as flatulence and diarrhea.
