Pharmacological action
Contraceptive topical (spermicidal) agent, also has antiseptic, antifungal, antiprotozoal effect inactivates Herpes simplex virus. It shows bactericidal activity against staphylococci, streptococci, Gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, gonococci, Proteus, Klebsiella and others), anaerobic bacteria, fungi and molds. It acts on bacterial strains resistant to antibiotics and other chemotherapeutic drugs and inhibits plasmocoagulase and staphylococcus hyaluronidase. The spermicidal effect is due to the ability to damage the membranes of the sperm (at the beginning of the flagella, then the head), which makes it impossible to fertilize the damaged sperm. The effect develops 5 minutes after the introduction of the vaginal suppository. It is active in the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases (gonorrhea, chlamydia, trichomoniasis). Does not affect the normal microflora of the vagina (including the Doderlein stick) and the hormonal cycle.
Indications
Local contraception for women of reproductive age (there are contraindications to the use of oral contraceptives or intrauterine contraception, the postpartum period, the lactation period after the termination of pregnancy, the premenopausal period, the need for episodic protection from pregnancy, skipping or being late to take constantly used oral contraceptives).
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the drug, colpitis, ulceration and irritation of the vaginal mucosa and uterus.
Composition
Active ingredient: myristiconium chloride (benzalkonium chloride C14) – 18.9 mg.
Dosage and administration
Having previously released the suppository from the contour packaging, enter it deep into the vagina in the supine position 5 minutes before sexual intercourse for 4 hours. Single dose: 1 suppository is designed for 1 sexual intercourse. Be sure to introduce a new vaginal suppository in case of repeated sexual intercourse. The frequency of use is limited by the individual tolerance of the active substance and the frequency of sexual intercourse.
Side effects
