Pharmacological action
Verrucacid has a cauterizing effect. Coagulates skin proteins.
Indications
Common filiform and plantar warts, papillomas, genital warts, dry corns, keratomas.
Contraindications
Nevi (including birthmarks), skin lesion area of ² ¹ ² ¹more than 20 cm2 rashes located on the red border of the lips and mucous membranes, children’s age (up to 7 years).
Use during pregnancy and lactation
It is possible if the expected effect of therapy exceeds the potential risk to the fetus or baby. During lactation, it is not recommended to remove formations, located on the mammary glands and hands.
Special instructions
Avoid contact with healthy skin and mucous membranes (especially the eye). In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and consult an ophthalmologist.
Do not bandage, glue with a band-aid or ointment the treated areas, remove crusts, re-apply the drug before the specified time. It is necessary to ensure the drying of the treated area in air, to exclude its contact with clothes made of synthetic fabric, not to wash on the first day.
It is not recommended to apply Verrucacid on the formations located in the skin folds (inguinal folds, anal area, interdigital spaces, etc.) and sweating areas in order to avoid burns to unaffected skin.
If it is necessary to apply the preparation several times in order to avoid burns to the surrounding skin, it is advisable to lubricate it with zinc paste. The paste is removed with a dry gauze swab after the last portion of Verrukacid has dried.
In case of accidental contact with the product on healthy skin, immediately, carefully, without rubbing it, remove it from the skin, and then treat the affected area with 10 ² 40% ethyl alcohol or alcohol-containing liquids (lotion, cologne) and wash thoroughly with warm water and soap.
In case of a burn, it is recommended to use anti-burn and healing agents.
Special care should be taken when using the drug in children.

1 g of solution contains phenol 588 mg, metacresol 392 mg
Dosage and Administration
Externally. Apply precisely to the treated area with a special applicator or a small thin wooden stick, preventing contact with adjacent areas and mucous membranes.
Small papillomas (up to 2 mm) and filiform warts: lubricate once.
Larger papillomas and small warts (2-3 mm): lubricate 3-4 times, taking breaks to dry the solution.
Warts on the hands and soles: treated 7-10 times with an interval of 3-4 minutes.
Keratomas and dry corns: treated 3-4 times with an interval of 3-4 minutes.
Before removing warts on hands with a dense keratinous surface, plantar warts, keratomas and dry corns, they are softened with keratolytic ointment (e.g. salicylic), covering the oiled area with compress paper or plastic wrap and, on top of them, with a gauze dressing. It is possible to seal with a plaster. Then remove the bandage or patch, the skin is steamed in hot water with the addition of soap and soda for 10-15 minutes and horn layers are cut off with manicure scissors or forceps. The drug is applied to dried skin several times with an interval of 3-4 minutes to dry.

Genital warts: removed in the treatment room (alone not recommended), applying the drug to each element individually 1-2 times with an interval of 3-4 minutes.
Repeated treatment, if necessary, is carried out 6-8 days after the crust falls off. Repeat the procedure 4-5 times.
Side effects
Swelling and redness of the eyelid (when treating foci near the eyes). Passes by itself.
Drug interaction
The components of the drug are readily soluble in an ointment base, therefore, lubricating any areas treated with Verrucacid with ointments is not recommended.
