Pharmacological action
Picloxidine – a derivative of biguanides, an antimicrobial agent, has an antiseptic effect. Active against Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus faecalis, Escherichia coli, Eberthella typhosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus vulgaris, Shigella dysenteria, Bacillus subtilis, Chlamidia trachomatis of some viruses and fungi.

Composition of
1 ml of the solution contains:
active substance – piccloxidine dihydrochloride – 0.500 mg which corresponds to 0.434 mg piccloxidine
excipients: dextrose (glucose) anhydrous 50.00 mg, polysorbate 800.25 mg, purified water to 1 ml.
Dosage and administration
For the treatment of bacterial infections, 1 drop of the drug is instilled into the conjunctival sac 2-6 times a day. The duration of treatment is 10 days. The feasibility and necessity of extending the duration of treatment> 10 days should be determined by the doctor.
In the postoperative period, 1 drop of Vitabact is instilled into the conjunctival sac
3-4 times a day.
For the prevention of postoperative complications (preoperative preparation), 1-2 drops of the drug are instilled into the conjunctival sac immediately before surgery.
Side effects
In rare cases, the development of allergic reactions, manifested by conjunctival hyperemia, is possible.
Storage conditions
Store at 15 – 25 ° C out of the reach of children.
Shelf life
24 months. After opening the bottle, use within 1 month. The drug should not be used after the expiration date.
