Pharmacological action
Anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, antibacterial, antipruritic.
Belogent has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, anti-proliferative and antipruritic effects.
When applying Belogent to the skin surface, it has a quick and powerful effect in the focus of inflammation, reducing the severity of objective symptoms (erythema, edema, lichenification) and subjective sensations (itching, irritation, pain).
Indications
Dermatoses, allergic and inflammatory skin diseases that respond to topical corticosteroid therapy, the course of which is complicated by a bacterial infection or there is a danger of its joining in children from 1 year of age and in adults: eczema, diffuse neurodermatitis
dermatitis – atopic, contact (including occupational), allergic, seborrheic
infected dermatitis, developed as a result of insect bites
impetigo
psoriasis
lichen planus
phleboderma
anogenital itching.
Contraindications
hypersensitivity to betamethasone, gentamicin and other components of Belogent
skin viral infections, skin post-vaccination reactions
open wounds, trophic ulcers
vulgar acne, rosacea
chickenpox
cutaneous manifestations of syphilis
tuberculosis of the skin.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
It is possible if the expected effect of therapy exceeds the potential risk to the fetus.
During pregnancy, the use of Belogent should not be prolonged and, if possible, be limited to small areas of the skin.
During breastfeeding – only on strict indications, but Belogent should not be applied to the mammary gland before feeding.
Special instructions
Belogent is for external use only.
Long-term use of the drug on the skin of the face is not recommended. possible development of rosacea, perioral dermatitis and acne.
Belogent should not be used in the eye area, due to the likelihood of the drug getting on the mucous membrane, which can contribute to the development of cataracts, glaucoma, fungal infections of the eyes and exacerbation of herpes infection.
Composition
1 g contains betamethasone dipropionate 0.64 mg (corresponding to 0.5 mg of betamethasone),
gentamicin sulfate (in terms of base) 1 mg.
Dosage and administration
Belogent is applied to the affected area with a thin layer, rubbing lightly, 2 times a day.
Side effects
They are mild.
Rarely (as with the use of other corticosteroids), hypersensitivity reactions (burning, itching, redness), acne-like changes, hypopigmentation, striae, skin atrophy, hypertrichosis, telangiectasia can develop.
In case of hypersensitivity reactions, you should cancel the therapy and consult a doctor.
Drug Interactions
Drug Interactions Belogent with other drugs is unknown.
Overdose
With prolonged continuous use of the drug, especially in children, on extensive skin surfaces, application to the skin with impaired integrity or when used under an occlusive dressing may develop side effects associated with increased absorption of betamethasone or gentamicin.
It should be emphasized that the likelihood of such phenomena is extremely small.
Treatment: It is recommended to discontinue the drug and prescribe symptomatic therapy if necessary.
