Pharmacological action

Meloxicam – analgesic, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory.

Indications

Rheumatoid arthritis

osteoarthritis

ankylosing spondylitis (ankylosing spondylitis) and other inflammatory and degenerative joint diseases accompanied by pain.

Intended for symptomatic therapy, it does not affect the progression of the disease at the time of use, reducing pain and inflammation.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity (including other NSAIDs), the ² њaspirin ² ќ triad (a combination of bronchial asthma, recurrent nasal polyposis and paranasal sinuses and intolerance of the acetylsalicylic acid and intestinal ulcer pyrazolone disease) gastrointestinal, cerebrovascular or other bleeding, severe heart failure, severe liver failure, severe renal failure (if hemodialysis is not performed), pregnancy, breastfeeding, age up to 15 years.

Special instructions

If peptic ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding occurs, side effects of the skin and mucous membranes develop, the drug should be discontinued.

In patients with reduced BCC and reduced glomerular filtration (dehydration, heart failure, cirrhosis, nephrotic syndrome, clinically pronounced kidney disease, diuretics, dehydration after major surgeries), the appearance of clinically severe CRF, which is completely reversible after discontinuation of the drug (in such patients at the beginning of treatment, daily diuresis and renal function should be monitored).

With persistent and significant increase in transaminases and changes in other indicators of liver function, the drug should be discontinued and control tests performed.

In patients with an increased risk of side effects, treatment begins with a dose of 7.5 mg. In the terminal stage of chronic renal failure in patients on dialysis, the dose should not exceed 7.5 mg / day.

During the treatment period, care must be taken when driving vehicles and engaging in other potentially dangerous activities that require increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions (with dizziness and drowsiness).

To reduce the risk of adverse events from the gastrointestinal tract, the minimum effective dose should be used with the lowest possible short course.

Dosage and administration of

Intramuscular administration of meloxicam is advisable during the first 2–3 days of treatment.

In the future, you should switch to taking the drug inside.

The maximum recommended daily dose should not exceed 15 mg.

Side effects of the
