Pharmacological action
Antifungal drug for external use.
It has a fungistatic and fungicidal effect due to damage to the cytoplasmic membrane of the fungus by disrupting the sterol biosynthesis. Reduces the content of ergosterol, accumulates the content of atypical steric non-planar sterols.
Has a wide spectrum of action.
Highly active against both the most common and rare causative agents of fungal infections of the nails: dermatophytes – Trichophyton spp., Microsporum spp., Epidermophyton spp. yeast fungi – Candida spp., Cryptococcus spp., Malassezia spp. (Pityrosporum spp.) Mold – Alternaria spp., Scopulariopsis spp., Hendersonula spp. fungi of the family Dematiaceae – Cladosporium spp., Fonsecaea spp., Wangiella spp. dimorphic fungi – Coccidioides spp., Histoplasma spp., Sporothrix spp.
Indications
Onychomycosis caused by dermatophytes, yeasts and molds (if no more than 2/3 of the nail plate is affected).
Prevention of fungal infections of the nails.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Oflomil Lac is not recommended for use during pregnancy and during breastfeeding.
Dosing and Administration
Varnish is applied to affected nails 1-2 times a week.
Before use, the affected areas of the nail are removed with the supplied nail file, the surface is cleaned with the swab moistened with alcohol with a swab. The procedure is repeated before the next application, after removing the remaining varnish with a swab of alcohol.
Treatment is continued continuously until a new nail grows and the affected areas disappear.
The duration of therapy depends on the location and severity of the process and averages 6 months (fingernails) or 9-12 months (toenails).
