Pharmacological action of

Special instructions
For a more complete and faster absorption of dextrose, you can enter s / c 4-5 units of short-acting insulin, based on 1 unit of short-acting insulin per 4-5 g of dextrose. Glucose tablets are a source of easily accessible nutrients, however, are not a complete substitute for a balanced diet.
Dosage and administration of
Tablets are taken orally at 0.5 – 2.5 – 5 g (1 – 10 tablets) per dose, tablets can be broken, chewed or dissolved. If necessary, the dose may be increased. Repeated intake is possible taking into account body weight, not exceeding a dose of 0.3 g / kg / hour. Tablets should be taken 1 to 1.5 hours before a meal due to a possible decrease in appetite after taking glucose.
Side effects
Decreased appetite, hyperglycemia (with diabetes or overdose).
Overdose of
Symptoms: hyperglycemia, glucosuria, hyperglycemic hyperosmolar coma, hyperhydration, impaired water-electrolyte balance, increased liponeogenesis with increased CO2 production, which leads to a sharp increase in minute respiratory volume, and, as a result, liver fat loss, and, consequently, fatty liver. Treatment: stop administering glucose, administer insulin, symptomatic therapy.
