Pharmacological action
Normax – an antibacterial drug from the group of fluoroquinolones. Normax has a wide spectrum of bactericidal action. Normax is highly active against gram-negative bacteria: Escherichia coli, Haemophilus influenzae, Haemophilus ducreyi, Klebsiella spp. (including Klebsiella pneumoniae), Morganella morganii, Neisseria spp. (including Neisseria gonorrhoeae), Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Proteus spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterobacter spp., Chlamydia trachomatis, Citrobacter freundii, Serratia spp., Yersinia spp.
Normax is active against gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus (including strains, producing penicillinase, and methicillin-resistant strains), Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus saprophyticus, some strains of Streptococcus spp.
Enterococcus spp is not very sensitive to the drug. and Acinetobacter spp. Anaerobic bacteria are resistant to Normax.
Indications
Treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases caused by drug-sensitive microorganisms:
diseases of the urinary tract
infections of the pelvic organs (including adnexitis, prostatitis)
intestinal infections
infections of the skin of the nose and lungs of the nose and nose middle ear
ophthalmic infection.
Contraindications
children and adolescents under 15
pregnancy
lactation (breastfeeding)
hypersensitivity to norfloxacin and other fluoroquinolone drugs.

Contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation.
Composition
1 tablet contains:
Active ingredient: norfloxacin 400 mg.
Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, purified talc, starch glycolate sodium salt, colloidal silicon dioxide, sodium lauryl sulfate, magnesium stearate, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, titanium dioxide.
Dosage and administration
Normax is taken orally 400 mg 2 times a day. In severe infections, a single dose can be increased to 800 mg. The duration of treatment is determined individually. The minimum course of treatment is 3 days.

Systemic effects of
From the digestive tract: decreased appetite, nausea, vomiting, bitterness in the mouth (including after instillation in the eye), abdominal pain, diarrhea, increased activity of hepatic transaminases, alkaline phosphatase, pseudomembranous LDH colitis (with prolonged use).
From the genitourinary system: crystalluria, glomerulonephritis, dysuria, polyuria, albuminuria, hypercreatininemia, urethral bleeding.
From the nervous system and sensory organs: headache, dizziness, insomnia, hallucinations, fainting.
From the cardiovascular system and blood (hematopoiesis, hemostasis): tachycardia, cardiac arrhythmias, decreased blood pressure, vasculitis, leukopenia, eosinophilia, decreased hematocrit.
From the musculoskeletal system: tendonitis, tendon rupture, arthralgia.
Allergic reactions: pruritus, urticaria, edema, Stevens-Johnson syndrome.
Other: candidiasis.
On instillation in the eye: impaired vision, burning and pain in the eye, conjunctival hyperemia, chemosis, photophobia, allergic reactions.
