Indications
Fungal infections of the skin, including foot mycoses (foot fungus), inguinal epidermophytosis (tinea cruris), fungal infections of the smooth skin of the body (tinea corporis) caused by dermatophytes such as Trichophyton (including T. rubrum, T. mentagrophytes, T. verrucosum, T. violaceum), Microsporum canis and Epidermophyton floccosum.
Multicolored lichen caused by Pityrosporum orbiculare (also known as Malassezia furfur).
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to terbinafine.
Use in children.
Due to the small amount of data on the safety of the drug in children, it should be prescribed only in cases where the expected positive effect exceeds the potential risk.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Since there is no safety data on terbinafine during pregnancy and lactation, the drug should be prescribed only in cases where the expected positive effect in the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus, and breastfeeding during treatment should be discontinued.
Special instructions
Terbinafine Spray is for external use only. Eye contact should be avoided as it may cause irritation. In case of accidental contact with the drug in the eyes, they should be washed with running water, and in the case of persistent symptoms of irritation, consult a doctor.
Caution should be exercised when spraying terbinafine onto damaged areas of the skin, since the drug contains alcohol that can cause irritation.
If a medicine was accidentally introduced into the respiratory tract during inhalation, then in case of any symptoms and especially when they persist, it is necessary to consult a doctor.
During treatment with Terbinafine, general hygiene rules should be followed to prevent the possibility of reinfection (through underwear, shoes, etc.)
Composition of
1 ml of solution contains
Active ingredient:
10 mg terbinafine hydrochloride.
Excipients:
ethanol,
purified water,
macrogol 400,
propylene glycol.
Dosage and administration of
Topical use of
The drug is intended for use in adults.
Terbinafine is used once or twice a day, depending on the indications. Before using the drug, it is necessary to thoroughly clean and dry the affected areas. The drug is sprayed onto the affected areas by pressing on the spray nozzle in an amount sufficient to thoroughly moisturize them, and, in addition, is sprayed onto the adjacent areas of both the affected and intact skin.
Duration of treatment and frequency of use of the drug:
Dermatomycosis of the trunk, legs, 1 time per day for 1 week
Dermatomycosis of the feet – 1 time per day for 1 week
Multi-colored lichen – 2 times a day for 1 – 2 weeks.
A decrease in the severity of clinical manifestations is usually observed in the early days of treatment. In the case of irregular treatment or its premature termination, there is a risk of infection recurrence.
In the event that after 1-2 weeks of treatment there are no signs of improvement, you should consult a doctor.
Side effects of
Redness, itching or burning sensation may appear at the drug application sites, however, discontinuation of treatment due to these phenomena is rarely required.
These not so serious side effects should be distinguished from rarely occurring allergic reactions, the development of which requires discontinuation of treatment.
Overdose
There are no data on overdose with topical application of terbinafine.
If, however, Terbinafine is taken orally, the development of side effects such as headache, nausea, epigastric pain and dizziness can be expected.
In such cases, gastric lavage and / or supportive symptomatic treatment may be necessary.
Alcohol content in the preparation should also be considered (27%).
