Pharmacological action of
Alpizarin is an antiviral preparation obtained from alpine lychee herb (Hedysarum alpinum L.), yellowish lycophene (Hedysarum flavescens Rgl. et Schmalh.) from the legume family or technical mangiferin (obtained from L. leaves of Miferaf) sumac family. The drug has antiviral activity against DNA-containing viruses (Herpes simplex type I and II, Varicella zoster, HIV, CMV), which is due to the suppression of the reproduction of viruses in the early stages of their development.
