Pharmacological action of
Thrombital – combined preparations consisting of acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) and magnesium hydroxide
ASA reduces platelet aggregation mainly by suppressing the synthesis of thromboxane in platelets, thus disrupting the formation of blood clots.
Magnesium hydroxide helps protect the gastrointestinal mucosa from the locally irritating effect of ASA and thus improves the tolerance of ASA.
Indications
