Pharmacological action

Aloe is a biogenic stimulant. It has an adaptogenic, tonic, laxative, antiseptic and choleretic effect. Improves cellular metabolism, trophism and tissue regeneration, increases the general nonspecific resistance of the body and the resistance of the mucous membranes to the action of damaging agents, accelerates the regeneration processes. It has some antimicrobial activity against streptococci, staphylococci, typhoid and dysenteric rods, Proteus. Stimulates the mechanisms of nonspecific body protection. Stimulates the reproductive function of men. Increases sperm motility.

Indications

Ophthalmology: used as part of the complex treatment of inflammatory eye diseases (blepharitis, conjunctivitis, keratitis), with vitreous clouding, myopic chorioretinitis, iritis, retinitis pigmentosa, optic atrophy, and atrophy.

Gastroenterology: as part of complex therapy with a decrease in appetite, treatment of a number of gastrointestinal diseases outside the stages of exacerbation (gastritis, gastroduodenitis, enterocolitis, cholecystitis).

Pulmonology: as part of the complex therapy of bronchial asthma, tuberculosis, pneumonia.

Special instructions

For painful injections of aloe, 0.5 ml of a 2% novocaine solution is preliminarily administered.

Dosage and administration

Adults are daily injected subcutaneously with 1 ml injection of aloe extract (maximum daily dose – 4 ml), children under 5 years old – 0.2-0.3 ml, older than 5 years – 0.5 ml. The course of treatment is 30-50 injections. Repeated injection is possible after a 2-3-month break. In bronchial asthma, 1-1.5 ml of the drug is administered daily for 10-15 days, and then 1 time per day. A total of 30-35 injections are performed.

Side effects

Allergic reactions, high blood pressure, hyperthermia, diarrhea.

Subcutaneous administration may cause soreness at the injection site. In this case, 0.5 ml of a solution of 20 mg / ml novocaine is preliminarily administered.

Drug Interactions

With prolonged use of the drug, potassium in the body may decrease, which may enhance the action of cardiac glycosides and antiarrhythmic drugs. With the simultaneous use of Aloe extract of liquid and thiazide diuretics, loop diuretics, licorice medicines, corticosteroids, the risk of developing potassium deficiency increases.

Aloe extract liquid potentiates the action of laxatives and drugs that stimulate hematopoiesis.
