Pharmacological action
Mukaltin is a mixture of polysaccharides from the herb marshmallow medicinal, has expectorant properties. Thanks to reflex stimulation, it enhances the activity of the ciliated epithelium and peristalsis of the respiratory bronchioles in combination with increased secretion of the bronchial glands.
Indications
Acute and chronic respiratory diseases, accompanied by the formation of hard-to-remove sputum of increased viscosity (tracheobronchitis, COPD, bronchiectasis, pneumonia, emphysema, pneumoconiosis, etc.)
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer.
Special instructions
The formation of a film of plant mucus on the surface of the mucous membrane of the upper respiratory tract gives not only a pronounced therapeutic effect, but also contributes to a longer local effect of other drugs.
As an expectorant, marshmallow preparations can be used in combination with sodium bicarbonate.
Composition
Composition per tablet:
active ingredient: marshmallow herb extract (mucaltin) – 50.0 mg
excipients: tartaric acid – 43.25 mg, calcium phosphate 2-substituted anhydrous (calcium hydrogen phosphate anhydrous) – 179 , 75 mg, crospovidone (crospovidone SL-M) – 21.0 mg, povidone (low molecular weight polyvinylpyrrolidone medical, povidone K 17) – 3.0 mg, calcium stearate – 3.0 mg.
Dosage and administration
Inside, take 1-2 tablets before meals 3 times a day. The course of treatment is an average of 7-14 days.
Children can dissolve the tablet in 1/3 cup of warm water.
