Pharmacological action
Ammifurin exerts a photosensitizing, antipsoriatic effect.
Indications
Vitiligo, nesting and total alopecia, mushroom mycosis, psoriasis.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity, acute gastritis, peptic ulcer and duodenal ulcer, pancreatitis, hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, nephritis, diabetes mellitus, cachexia, hypertension, decompensated endocrine diseases, tuberculosis, tuberculosis, benign tumors, pregnancy, lactation, cataracts, multiple pigmented nevi. Caution. Children’s age (up to 5 years), old age (over 60 years).

Contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation.
Special instructions
When depigmentation of the skin (leukoderma) associated with the destruction of melanocytes is ineffective.
It is necessary to warn patients about the possibility of developing bullous dermatitis with a combination of irradiation of lesions with a mercury-quartz lamp and exposure to solar radiation. The prescribed exposure regimen must be strictly observed.
During treatment, it is recommended to wear sun glasses during the day.
In the summer months, in order to avoid the combined effects of artificial and natural UV radiation, it is recommended to combine treatment with dosed exposure to sunlight.
The best effect is observed in young people, with a short prescription of the disease, in brunettes and people prone to tanning.
Treatment should be carried out under close medical supervision.
Composition
100 ml contains a mixture of three furocoumarins (isopimpinellin, bergapten and xanthotoxin) isolated from the seeds of the large Ammi plant (Ammi majus L.)
Dosage and administration
Ammifurin solution is applied externally, the solution is applied to the lesions 1 hour before UV irradiation. The maximum course dose is 1-2 bottles of 0.3% solution. Repeated courses are carried out after 1-1.5 months. With extensive lesions – in combination with the ingestion of tablets (0.02 g).
Side effects
Headache, dizziness, palpitations, cardialgia, dyspepsia, nausea, gastralgia. An overdose of solar and artificial UV radiation – acute dermatitis (hyperemia of the skin, swelling, blisters).
Drug Interactions
Simultaneous treatment with ammifurin and the use of drugs with photosensitizing properties are contraindicated.
