Description
Pharmacological action of
The active antimicrobial component of the drug is chemically a semi-synthetic antibiotic from the penicillin group and has a wide spectrum of activity on both gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, including the strains: Staphylococcus spp., Streptococomy. Meningococcus spp., Escherichia spp., Shigella spp., Salmonella spp., Pasteurella spp., Listeria monocytogenes, Clostridium spp., Haemophilus spp., Bacillus spp., Actinobacillus spp., Bordetella spp., Fusobactium. , Corynebacterium spp., Campylobacter spp., Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Proteus mirabilis. Amoxicillin trihydrate does not act on penicillin-forming bacteria Klebsiella spp, Enterobacter spp. and Pseudomonas spp. Amoxicillin trihydrate inhibits the biosynthesis of the cell wall of microorganisms, which leads to its death. After intramuscular administration of Amoxisan, the maximum concentration of amoxicillin trihydrate in the blood serum is reached after 1 – 2 hours and is kept at the therapeutic level for 48 hours. Amoxicillin trihydrate is excreted from the body mainly with urine and partially with bile, mainly in unchanged form. Amoxisan, according to the degree of exposure to the organism of warm-blooded animals, refers to moderately hazardous substances.
Indications
Assign for therapeutic purposes to cattle, sheep, pigs, dogs and cats with infectious diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory tract, genitourinary system, joints, soft tissues and skin, including necrobacteriosis, umbilical sepsis, pig atrophic rhinitis, mastitis metritis agalactia syndrome and other primary and secondary infections of bacterial etiology, pathogens which are sensitive to penicillin antibiotics.
Contraindications
Increased individual sensitivity to amoxicillin and other penicillins. It is forbidden to enter intravenously. Amoxisan should not be mixed with other drugs in the same syringe, nor can it be used simultaneously with thiamphenicol, chloramphenicol, penicillin antibiotics, cephalosporins and fluoroquinolones.
Special instructions
Slaughter of animals for meat is permitted no earlier than 28 days after the last use of Amoxisan. Meat of animals forced to be killed before the expiration of the specified period can be used as feed for fur animals. Milk of dairy animals is allowed to be used for food purposes, not earlier than 96 hours after the last injection of the drug. Milk received earlier than the deadline can be used after boiling in animal feed.
Composition of
Amoxicillin trihydrate – 150 mg / ml, auxiliary components.
Dosage and administration
Amoxisan is administered to animals subcutaneously or intramuscularly at a dose of 1 ml per 10 kg of body weight, which corresponds to 15 mg of active substance per 1 kg of body weight. If necessary, re-administration of the drug after 48 hours is possible. Only sterile dry syringes and needles are used to administer a suspension of amoxicillin trihydrate. Before use, the vial with the suspension should be thoroughly shaken for 1 to 2 minutes. If the administered dose of the drug exceeds 20 ml, it is recommended to administer it with several injections at different points. The injection site after administration of Amoxisan is recommended to massage slightly.
Side effects of
In rare cases, with increased individual sensitivity and a violation of the order of taking and dosing the drug, allergic reactions, refusal to feed, vomiting, impaired coordination of movements are possible. In these cases, the animals are prescribed desensitizing and symptomatic therapy. At the injection site, edema may develop, which spontaneously resolves within 1 to 2 days and does not require the use of drugs.
