Pharmacological action
Vikair – a combined drug that has astringent, antacid, laxative and antispasmodic effects. Magnesium carbonate reduces the acidity of gastric juice, reduces the activity of pepsin. Bismuth nitrate forms a protective film on the gastric mucosa, providing anti-inflammatory, bactericidal, reparative effects.
Calamus, which has an antispasmodic effect, and buckthorn, which have a laxative effect, help to improve passage through the intestines.
Indications
Peptic ulcer and duodenal ulcer, hyperacid gastritis.
Contraindications
Hypocidal gastritis.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Vikair is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation.
Specific guidance
Vicair is not advisable for patients with peptic ulcer disease in combination with chronic appendicitis, enterocolitis, cholecystitis and patients with a tendency to bleeding.
Composition
Each tablet contains:
Active active ingredients: Bismuth base nitrate – 0.35 g, basic magnesium carbonate – 0.4 g sodium bicarbonate – 0.2 g, buckthorn bark powder – 0.025 g, calamus rhizome powder – 0.025 g.
Excipients: potato starch, stearic acid, talc.
Dosage and administration
Inside, 1 1.5 hours 3 times after a meal, with a small amount (1/4 cup) of water, 1-2 tablets.
The course of treatment is 1-2 months (if necessary, repeat the course).
Side effects
Staining of feces in black.
Drug Interactions
With m-anticholinergic or histamine H2-receptor blockers, the need to use the drug is reduced.
Reduces the absorption of tetracyclines. In combination with other drugs containing bismuth, the concentration of bismuth in the blood increases.
