Pharmacological action of
Valerian tincture exhibits a mild sedative effect.
The active principle of the drug is the ester of borneol and isovaleric acid, free valerianic acid.
Sedation occurs slowly but stably enough. In addition, the drug has an antispasmodic effect on the smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract.
