Pharmacological action
Means of plant origin. Hawthorn fruits contain flavonoids (quercetin, hyperin, hyperoside, vitexin), organic acids (citric, oleanic, ursolic, categus, coffee, chlorogenic), carotenoids, tannins, fatty oils, pectins, triterpene and flavono glycosides, bicolithin glycosides, , sugar, vitamins.
The active ingredients of hawthorn reduce the excitability of the central nervous system and heart muscle, increase contractility of the latter, improve coronary and cerebral circulation, and eliminate dizziness. Hawthorn contributes to the normalization of heart rhythm, which is due, as expected, the mechanism of action characteristic of class III antiarrhythmics.
Due to the presence of triterpene compounds and flavonoids, it has an antispasmodic effect, selectively expanding the vessels of the heart and brain, the hypotensive effect contributes to the normalization of venous pressure, improves the function of the vascular walls.
Experimental studies have shown that galenic hawthorn and triterpene glycosides have a pronounced antiatherosclerotic effect.

paroxysmal tachycardia (in mild forms in addition to treatment with basic antiarrhythmic drugs).
