Use in pregnancy and lactation

In clinical and experimental studies, it was not found that the use of clotrimazole during pregnancy and lactation has a negative effect on the health of a woman or fetus (child). However, the question of the advisability of prescribing clotrimazole should be decided individually after consulting a doctor. In case of prescribing the drug to a pregnant woman, she should be warned that with the introduction of vaginal tablets, the applicator should not be used.

Special instructions

Simultaneous treatment of sexual partners is necessary to prevent the spread of urogenital infection. With trichomoniasis, for the more successful treatment, other drugs should be prescribed together with clotrimazole, possessing systemic effects (e.g. metronidazole orally).

Vaginal tablets are not recommended for use during menstruation.

In the case of an unintended use of the drug (oral), the following symptoms are possible – anorexia, nausea, vomiting, gastralgia, impaired liver function, rarely drowsiness, hallucinations, pollakiuria, skin allergic reactions. In these situations, it is necessary to take activated charcoal and consult a doctor.

Dosage and Administration

Externally. Apply a thin layer 2-3 times a day on previously cleaned (using soap with a neutral pH value) and dry affected skin and gently rub it. The duration of treatment depends on the severity of the disease, the localization of pathological changes and the effectiveness of therapy.

Treatment of dermatomycosis is carried out for at least 4 weeks, pityriasis versicolor -1-3 weeks.

In case of fungal diseases of the skin of the legs, it is recommended that therapy be continued for at least 2 weeks after the symptoms of the disease have been resolved.
