Description
Pharmacological action
Deltamethrin has a pronounced insecticaricidal intestinal and contact effect. It is active against sarcoptoid, ixodid and chicken ticks, bed bugs, downy eaters, lice, fleas, flies, horseflies, mosquitoes and other ectoparasites of animals.
The mechanism of action of deltamethrin is based on the blocking of neuromuscular transmission of nerve impulses at the level of ganglions of peripheral nerves, which leads to paralysis and death of parasites.
Delcid in the recommended doses does not have a local irritant, resorptive-toxic and sensitizing effect. Contact with mucous membranes causes slight irritation. Toxic to fish and bees.
Indications
For the treatment of sheep, cattle, pigs, rabbits and dogs with arachno-entomoses, as well as for the disinfestation and decontamination of livestock buildings and other objects of veterinary supervision.
Contraindications
Do not use Delcid for treating weakened and depleted animals, as well as females later than 2 weeks before birth.
Special instructions
Sick and exhausted animals, as well as females no later than 2 weeks before birth, are not allowed to process. The combined use of Delcide and organophosphorus insecticides is not recommended, due to increased toxicity of the drug.
After processing, workers should wash their face and hands with soap and water. In case of accidental contact with the drug on the skin or mucous membranes of a person, immediately wash it off with a stream of water. If the drug gets inside, give the victim several glasses of warm water and 8-10 tablets of activated charcoal.
Slaughter for cattle, sheep and pig meat is allowed 15 days after processing, rabbits – 3 days after the last processing. In the case of forced slaughter of animals earlier than the deadline, the meat can be used for animal feed or for processing to meat and bone meal.
Milk of dairy cows treated against sarcoptoid ticks and lice is allowed to be used for food purposes not earlier than 3 days after the treatment with Delcid, milk from animals treated against horseflies, pasture flies and midges is allowed to be used without restrictions.
Composition
The medicinal product for external use as an active substance contains synthetic pyrethroid deltamethrin – 4.0%.
Side effects
When used according to the instructions, side effects and complications are not observed. With increased individual sensitivity of animals to deltamethrin, refusal of food, vomiting, edema, impaired coordination of movements is possible. In this case, further use of the drug is stopped and desensitizing therapy is carried out.
Storage conditions
Store in the manufacturer s sealed packaging, in a dry place protected from direct sunlight, separately from food and feed, at temperatures from minus 10 ° Ñ to 30 ° Ñ. Keep out of the reach of children. The Expiration of the drug subject to storage conditions is 2 years from the date of production. Delcid after expiration should not be applied.
