Pharmacological action
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAIDs).
Dexalgin has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects. The mechanism of action of the drug is based on the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis due to the suppression of cyclooxygenase.
Analgesic effect occurs 30 minutes after taking the drug, its duration is from 4 to 6 hours.
Indications
Mild to moderate pain syndrome in the following diseases and conditions:
acute and chronic inflammatory diseases of the musculoskeletal system (rheumatoid arthritis, spondylitis, arthrosis, osteochondrosis)
dysmenorrhea
toothache.
Contraindications
peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum
gastrointestinal bleeding
active bleeding of various genesis
increased bleeding
treatment of anticoagulants srdlklp acute renal failure
liver failure
hypersensitivity to dexketoprofen or other NSAIDs.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
The drug is contraindicated for use during pregnancy and lactation due to the lack of reliable clinical data confirming the safety of its use.
Composition
1 ml contains
dexketoprofen trometamol 36.9 mg, which corresponds to the content of dexketoprofen 25 mg
excipients:
ethanol 96%,
sodium chloride,
sodium hydroxide,
water d / i.
Dosing and Administration
Dexalgin is intended for iv and v / m administration.
Recommended Adult Dose: 50 mg every 8 12 hours If necessary, re-administration of the drug with a 6-hour interval is possible.
The daily dose is 150 mg. In elderly patients and patients with impaired liver and / or kidney function, Dexalgin therapy should be started with lower doses, the daily dose is 50 mg.
Dexalgin is intended for short-term (no more than 2 days) use during an acute pain syndrome. In the future, the patient can be transferred to analgesics for oral administration.
Rules for the preparation and administration of solutions The contents of one ampoule (2 ml) are administered by slow iv injection for at least 15 seconds.
The contents of one ampoule (2 ml) are diluted in 30-100 ml of physiological saline, glucose solution or Ringer’s solution (lactate).
The solution should be prepared under aseptic conditions and always protected from exposure to daylight.
The diluted solution (should be clear) is administered by slow iv infusion for 10-30 minutes.
Side effects
From the digestive system: heartburn, abdominal pain rarely – erosive and ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract.
From the side of the central nervous system and peripheral nervous system: headaches, dizziness, nervousness, sleep disturbance, paresthesia.
From the cardiovascular system: palpitations, increased blood pressure.
Allergic reactions: skin rash, bronchospasm.
Other: chills, swelling of the extremities, photosensitivity rarely – a change in the picture of peripheral blood, impaired renal function.
When used according to the indications and in recommended doses, the drug is well tolerated.
Drug Interaction
Concomitant use of Dexalgin 25 with other NSAIDs may increase the risk of side effects.
Concomitant use of Dexalgin 25 with lithium preparations may increase the latter’s concentration in blood plasma.
Caution should be exercised when using NSAIDs less than 24 hours before use or after the end of methotrexate therapy, as its blood levels (and therefore toxicity) may increase.
Some cases of bleeding with the use of NSAIDs and anticoagulants have been described.
Overdose
Symptoms: nausea, anorexia, abdominal pain, headache, dizziness, disorientation, insomnia.
Treatment: symptomatic therapy if necessary – gastric lavage, dialysis.
Storage conditions
The drug should be stored in a dark place, out of the reach of children, at a temperature not exceeding 30 ° C.
