Description

Pharmacological action of

Dexpanthenol in skin cells quickly turns into pantothenic acid, which is an integral part of coenzyme A and plays an important role in both the formation and healing of damaged skin integument stimulates skin regeneration and normalizes cellular metabolism.

When applied topically, it is rapidly absorbed by the skin and converted into pantothenic acid, binds to plasma proteins (mainly with beta-globulin and albumin). Its concentration in the blood is 0.5-1 mg / l, in blood serum – 100 žÑ˜g / l. Pantothenic acid is not metabolized in the body (except for inclusion in Ko-A), it is excreted unchanged.

Indications

In case of violation of the integrity of the skin: healing of burns (including sun), minor skin lesions (abrasions, cuts, cracks, etc.).

Prevention and treatment of dry skin, including as a result of dermatitis of various origins (manifested by peeling, redness, irritation, tightness), as well as daily care for areas of the skin that are most affected by external factors (face, hands), including due to weathering.

For the care of the mammary gland during breastfeeding (cracks and redness of the nipples of the breast), for the care of infants and babies (diaper rash, diaper dermatitis).

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to dexpanthenol and the components of the drug.

Recommended Use for

Outwardly. The ointment is applied in a thin layer 1-2 times a day on the affected surface and gently rubbed.

When caring for the mammary gland, the ointment is applied to the surface of the nipple after each breastfeeding.

When caring for infants, the ointment is applied after each change of linen or water treatment.

If there is no improvement after treatment, or the symptoms worsen, or new symptoms appear, you should consult your doctor. Use the drug only according to the indications, the method of use and at the doses indicated in the instructions for use.

Special instructions

For external use only. Do not apply to wet wounds.

Composition

1 g ointment contains: active ingredient – dexpanthenol – 50 mg

excipients: glycerol (glycerin), petrolatum, lanolin, liquid paraffin, solid paraffin, stearic alcohol, cetyl alcohol, water.

Side effects

Allergic reactions, allergic skin reactions (e.g. contact dermatitis, allergic dermatitis, itching, redness, eczema, rash, hives, skin irritation). Overdose

No known cases of overdose.
