Pharmacological action
Indirectly inhibiting type 1 and 2 cyclooxygenase, it disrupts the metabolism of arachidonic acid and the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are the main link in the development of inflammation.
Diclofenac is used to eliminate pain and reduce swelling associated with the inflammatory process.
With the recommended method of applying the drug, not more than 6% of diclofenac is absorbed.
Indications
Post-traumatic inflammation of the soft tissues and joints, for example due to sprains, strains and bruises.
Rheumatic diseases of soft tissues (tendovaginitis, bursitis, damage to periarticular tissues)
Pain syndrome and swelling, associated with diseases of the muscles and joints (rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, radiculitis, lumbago, sciatica).
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to diclofenac or other components of the drug, as well as salicylates or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, a history of bronchial asthma attacks after using NSAIDs and salicylates pregnancy (III trimester, age, up to 6 years, ), violation of the integrity of the skin.
Precautions: hepatic porphyria (exacerbation), erosive and ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract, severe violations of the liver and kidneys, chronic heart failure, asthma, old age, pregnancy I and II trimester.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
The drug cannot be used in the III trimester of pregnancy.
There is no experience with the drug during lactation.
Use in the I and II trimesters is possible only after consultation with a doctor.
Special instructions
Diclofenac Acre Gel should only be applied to intact skin, avoiding contact with open wounds.
After application, do not apply an occlusive dressing.
Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
Composition
100 g of the drug contains
diclofenac sodium – 1.0 g.
Dosage and Administration
Externally. For adults and children over 12 years of age, the drug Diclofenac-Acre is applied to the skin 3-4 times a day and rubbed lightly. The required amount of the drug depends on the size of the painful area.
A single dose of the drug is 2-4 g (which is comparable in volume to the size of cherries or walnuts, respectively). Children from 6 to 12 years old should use no more than 2 g of the drug up to 2 times a day. After applying the drug, hands should be washed.
The duration of treatment depends on the indications and the observed effect. After 2 weeks of using the drug, consult your doctor.
Side effects
Local reactions: eczema, photosensitivity, contact dermatitis (pruritus, redness, swelling of the skin, swollen skin).
Systemic reactions: generalized skin rash, allergic reactions (urticaria, angioedema, bronchospastic reactions), photosensitivity.
Drug Interactions
The drug may enhance the effects of drugs that cause photosensitivity.
No clinically relevant interactions with other drugs have been described.
