Pharmacological action of
Diclofenac sodium is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, has a pronounced anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic properties.
Drotaverinum hydrochloride – myotropic antispasmodic, causes relaxation of smooth muscles, dilates blood vessels.
After oral administration of Vetalgin, active substances are rapidly absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and penetrate into most organs and tissues of the animal, reaching a maximum plasma concentration in 1.5 ² 2 hours. In the synovial fluid of the joint cavity, the maximum concentration of the active substance is observed after 4-6 hours and is kept at the therapeutic level for 12 hours.
Indications
Vetalgin is prescribed to dogs and cats alone or in combination therapy for inflammatory degenerative diseases of the joints and spine (rheumatoid arthritis, arthrosis, osteoarthritis, spondyloarthrosis), neuralgia, neuritis, bursitis, synovitis, tendenitis, muscle tendonitis, and tendons, inflammatory swelling of soft tissues, post-traumatic and postoperative pain syndromes, smooth muscle spasms in diseases of the urinary system and gastrointestinal tract Foot path.
Contraindications
Do not use with individual hypersensitivity to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, impaired liver, kidney, hematopoiesis, hemorrhage and bleeding, ulcers of the gastrointestinal tract, as well as pregnant and lactating females. Do not use together with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, glucocorticoids and anticoagulants, as well as animals younger than 2 months of age.
Composition
As active ingredients in 1 tablet for dogs of small breeds and cats – diclofenac sodium – 0.4 mg and drotaverine hydrochloride – 2, 4 mg
Dosage and administration
Vetalgin is administered to animals individually, as a whole tablet, orally 1-2 times a day during feeding at a dose: tablets for small breeds of dogs and cats – 1 tablet per 2 kg of animal weight. It is forbidden to divide the tablets into parts before use. The course of treatment is 5-7 days.
Storage conditions
Store the drug in unopened original packaging, in a place protected from light and moisture, at a temperature of 0 to 25 ° C.
