Pharmacological action
Fenbendazole, which is part of the preparation, has a wide spectrum of nematodicidal and cestodocidal effects, is active against adult forms, larvae and eggs of nematodes of the gastrointestinal tract and lungs, as well as cestodes parasitizing in animals.
The mechanism of action of fenbendazole is to destroy the microtubules in the intestinal cells of helminths and disrupt energy processes, which leads to the death of parasites.
Indications
Apply “Febtal” with therapeutic and prophylactic purposes for various nematodoses and cestodoses of dogs and cats: with toxocariasis, toxascaridosis, hookworm infection, uncinariosis, dipyldiosis, tenidiosis.
Contraindications
Do not use to animals that are exhausted and sick with infectious diseases, as well as puppies and kittens younger than 3 weeks of age.
Composition
The preparation as an active ingredient in 1 tablet contains fenbendazole – 0.15 g, as well as auxiliary components.
Dosage and administration
Febtal is used once, forcibly to the root of the tongue in the following doses: for adult dogs and cats – 1 tablet per 1.5 kg of animal weight.
For puppies and kittens (over the age of three weeks) Febtal is used once a day for three days in a row, in a single dose – 1 tablet per 3 kg of animal weight.
A special diet and the use of laxatives before deworming is not required.
Side effects
When using the drug according to the instructions side effects and complications are not observed. With increased individual sensitivity of the animal to fenbendazole and the appearance of allergic reactions, the use of the drug is stopped. Symptoms of an overdose in animals have not been identified.
Storage conditions
Keep the product protected from light and moisture, inaccessible to children and animals, separately from food and feed, at a temperature of 0 ° C to 25 ° C.
