Special instructions

Do not apply Fucidin ® to the skin in the eye area, since fusidic acid, in contact with the eyes, causes irritation to the conjunctiva.

Cream contains butylhydroxyanisole, cetyl alcohol and potassium sorbate, and the ointment contains lanolin and cetyl alcohol. These excipients can cause local allergic skin reactions (e.g. contact dermatitis).

Butylhydroxyanisole may also cause irritation to the eyes and mucous membranes.

With fusidic acid, bacterial resistance may develop. As with other antibiotics, prolonged or intermittent use may increase the risk of antibiotic resistance.
