Description

Pharmacological action of

The fipronil component of the preparation has a pronounced contact insect-acaricidal effect on larval and mature phases of the development of fleas, lice, louse-bearing and lactobacillidae, ixenidae. After cutaneous application of the drug, fipronil, not absorbed into the systemic circulation, accumulates in the epidermis, hair follicles and sebaceous glands of the animal’s body and has a long-term contact insecticaricidal and repellent effect. The drug is well tolerated by dogs and cats of different breeds.

Indications

Insecticide and acaricidal drops “Bars” are used in dogs and cats for entomoses, sarcoptosis, knothedrosis and ixodid ticks.

Contraindications

Increased individual sensitivity of animals to fipronil. Pregnant, lactating, sick with infectious diseases and recovering animals, puppies and kittens up to 10 weeks of age, as well as dogs weighing less than 2 kg, should not be treated.

Recommendations for the use of

In case of entomoses, sarcoptosis of dogs and cat notedrosis, the drug is applied by spreading the hair on the skin at several points inaccessible to animals to lick: in the back between the shoulder blades or in the neck at the base of the head. Repeated processing is carried out according to indications, but not more than 1 time per month. In order to prevent re-infestation with fleas, the animals are replaced with litter or treated with Bars insect-acaricidal spray (at the rate of 4 pressures on the spray head per 1 m2 of treated surface). To destroy ixodid ticks on the body of the animal, a drug in the amount of 1 drop is applied to the tick and the place of its attachment to the skin. If within 20-30 minutes the tick does not fall off spontaneously, then it is gently pulled out of the body with tweezers and destroyed. For preventive purposes, cats should be treated every 5 weeks.

Special instructions

It is not recommended to bathe the animal 3 days before and 3 days after treatment. After this period, bathing without zoo shampoo does not reduce the protective effect of the drug. Do not allow droplets to slip off! Personal preventive measures During the processing of the animal is not allowed to drink, smoke and eat. At the end of work with the drug, wash your hands with warm water and soap. In the event that the drug gets on the skin of a person, it should be washed off with plenty of warm water and soap.

Composition

Solution for external use, Insect acaricidal drops “Bars” as active substance contain: fipronil – 10 mg / ml, diflubenzuron – 1 mg / ml and dicarboximide (MGK 264) – 1 mg / ml, as well as auxiliary components.

Side effects

When using the drug according to the instructions side effects and complications are not observed. With increased individual sensitivity to fipronil, allergic reactions may occur, in which case the drug must be washed off with shampoo.
