Description
Pharmacological action
Insectoacaricidal preparation of the phenylpyrazole group. FipristВ® Spray is active against all phases of the development of lice, fleas, lice beetles and ixodid ticks, which parasitize dogs and cats.
The mechanism of action of fipronil, which is part of the drug, is to block the GABA-dependent arthropod receptors, impaired transmission of nerve impulses, which leads to paralysis and death of ectoparasites.
After applying the drug to the skin and hairline, fipronil is practically not absorbed into the systemic circulation, accumulates in the hair, epidermis, hair follicles and sebaceous glands of the animal’s body, has a long contact insect-acaricidal effect, protecting the animal from ectoparasites.
The protective effect of the drug after treating dogs against ixodid ticks lasts up to 5 weeks, against insects – up to 3 months, after treating cats against fleas – up to 40 days.
FipristВ® Spray, according to the degree of exposure to the body, refers to moderately hazardous substances (hazard class 3 according to GOST 12.1.007-76), at the recommended doses it does not have a skin-irritating and resorptive-toxic effect, if it comes into contact with the eyes, it causes slight irritation. The drug is toxic to rabbits, as well as fish and other aquatic organisms.

Before use, shake the vial with the preparation and hold it vertically, press the spray head, directing a spray of aerosol onto the treated surface from a distance of 10-20 cm.The dose of the preparation, depending on the length of the coat, is 3-6 ml per 1 kg of animal weight.
The drug is easily dosed: – one press on the spray head of a bottle with a capacity of 100 ml provides a dose of 0.5 ml
– one press on a spray head of a bottle with a capacity of 250 ml provides a dose of 1.5 ml
– one press on a spray head of a bottle with a capacity of 500 ml provides a dose 3 ml
Spray treats the entire body of the animal against hair growth, slightly moistening the hair (in animals of long-haired breeds, the hair is raised by hand). Covering the eyes of the animal, they process the auricles and chest, with the fingertips (gloved), rub the preparation lightly around the eyes and nose.
In order to prevent re-infestation of animals with fleas, the litter is replaced or treated with an insecticidal agent in accordance with the instructions for its use.
Until the coat has completely dried out, the treated animal should not be allowed to go into open flames or heat appliances.
It is not recommended to wash the animal 2 days before treatment, as well as to wash and bathe in an open reservoir for 2 days after treatment with Fiprist® Spray.
Features of the drug during its first use and withdrawal have not been established.
