Description
Pharmacological action of
Gentamicin sulfate has a pronounced bactericidal effect on most gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa. During installations in the conjunctival cavity, ² ÑIris ² Ñ is absorbed on the conjunctival mucosa, easily penetrates through the cornea into intraocular media, providing a stable concentration of the drug inside the eye and having an antibacterial effect in case of damage to the conjunctiva, cornea and deep endocular structures.
Indications
Acute and chronic conjunctivitis, keratitis, keratoconjunctivitis, ulcers and erosion of the cornea, meibomyitis, blepharitis, iridocyclitis (uveitis).
Contraindications
Increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug. The drug does not affect anaerobic bacteria, fungi, viruses and protozoa.
Dosage and administration of
For therapeutic purposes, the drug is instilled into the conjunctival cavity 4 times a day for 7-10 days in a row in doses: ² Ñ for dogs up to 10 kg – 1 drop,
² Ñ for dogs over 10 kg – 2 drops,
² Ñ for cats ( any mass) – 1 drop.
For the prevention of complications of foreign bodies and other irritating agents entering the eye, the drug is instilled into an animal in the conjunctival cavity 1 drop 4 times a day for 3 days.
Side effects
When using the drug according to the instructions, side effects and complications, as a rule, are not observed.
Storage conditions
Store the drug in a place protected from light and moisture, out of the reach of children and animals, away from food and feed, at a temperature of 5 to 25 ° C.
Expiration date
3 years from the date of production. After opening the bottle, store no more than 10 days.
