Drug Interactions

Compatible with NSAIDs, paracetamol and GCS. Cimetidine and propranolol reduce hepatic clearance of lidocaine (a decrease in metabolism due to inhibition of microsomal oxidation and a decrease in hepatic blood flow) and increase the risk of toxic effects. When administered with aimalin, phenytoin, verapamil, quinidine, amiodarone, an increase in the negative inotropic effect is possible. Co-administration with beta-blockers increases the risk of developing bradycardia. Cardiac glycosides weaken the cardiotonic effect. Curare-like drugs enhance muscle relaxation. Procainamide with simultaneous use with lidocaine increases the risk of central nervous system excitation, hallucinations.

With the simultaneous administration of sleeping pills and sedatives, it is possible to increase their inhibitory effect on the central nervous system. With the on / in the introduction of hexobarbital or thiopental sodium against the background of the action of lidocaine, respiratory depression is possible. Potentiates the effects of MAO inhibitors. With simultaneous use with polymyxin B, it is possible to increase the inhibitory effect on neuromuscular transmission, therefore, in this case, it is necessary to monitor the patient’s respiratory function. Possible decrease in the effectiveness of hypoglycemic drugs, doxorubicin, teniposide, etoposide.
