Pharmacological action
Antiseptic for topical use in dentistry and ENT practice. It also has antifungal activity and analgesic effect when applied to the mucous membrane. In addition, Stopangin has an enveloping effect.
Duration – 10-12 hours.
Indications
infectious and inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and larynx (tonsillitis, including Vincent’s sore throat, pharyngitis, stomatitis, aphthous oral ulcers, glossitis, periodontitis, gum bleeding)
fungal diseases (candidiasis) of the oral cavity and larynx before and after surgical interventions on the oral cavity and larynx
trauma to the oral cavity and larynx
prevention of infection of the alveoli after tooth extraction
oral hygiene to eliminate bad breath (deodorizing)
prevention of superinfection in destructive tumors of the oral cavity and larynx.
Contraindications
atrophic pharyngitis
children under 6 years old
I trimester of pregnancy
hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
The drug is contraindicated for use in the first trimester of pregnancy.
It is possible to use the drug in the II and III trimesters of pregnancy and during lactation (breastfeeding).
Composition
1 bottle contains:
Active ingredient: hexetidine – 0.0577 g
Excipients: methyl salicylate – 6.7 mg, aniseed essential oil – 14 mg, eucalyptus essential oil – 4 mg, orange blossom oil – 3.3 mg, oil sassafra essential – 3.3 mg, peppermint essential oil – 23.1 mg, levomenthol – 6.7 mg, sodium saccharinate monohydrate – 8.3 mg, glycerol 85% – 7.6598 g, ethanol 96% – 19.3877 g.
Dosage and administration
Spray is used 2 times / day (unless the doctor has prescribed otherwise), after a meal or in between meals.
Before use, remove the protective cap from the bottle and attach the applicator. Press 2-3 times so that the solution enters the spray. Then hold your breath and sprinkle on the affected area. After use, the applicator should be rinsed with warm water.
The duration of treatment with Stopangin ® is 5-7 days.
Side effects
Local reactions: burning sensation in the oral mucosa (quickly passes spontaneously).
Other: in exceptional cases, patients with hypersensitivity may experience allergic reactions if the drug is accidentally swallowed while rinsing, nausea is possible (it occurs spontaneously).
