Pharmacological action
Fucidin G – a combined preparation for external use. Combines the anti-inflammatory and antipruritic effect of hydrocortisone with the antibacterial effect of fusidic acid.
Highly active against: Staphylococcus spp, especially Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis (including methicillin-resistant strains) Streptococcus spp, Neisseria spp, Clostridium spp, Nocardia asteroides, Enterococcus spp, Bacteroides spp, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Mycobacterium lep. The antibacterial activity of fusidic acid does not decrease in the presence of hydrocortisone.
Indications
Dermatitis with or suspected bacterial infection:
– Atopic dermatitis.
– Seborrheic dermatitis.
– Simple contact dermatitis.
– Allergic dermatitis.
– Eczema.
– Chronic lichen.
– Red discoid lupus.
Contraindications
– Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
– Tuberculosis of the skin.
– Cutaneous manifestations of syphilis.
– Chicken pox.
– Viral and fungal infections of the skin.
– Dermal post-vaccination reactions.
– Open wounds.
– Trophic ulcers.
– Rosacea.

Use during pregnancy and lactation
Experimental studies have shown that Fucidin G does not have embryotoxic and teratogenic effects. With external use of Futsidin G, the secretion of both fusidic acid and hydrocortisone with breast milk is unlikely due to low systemic adsorption. Since a study in women during pregnancy and lactation was not carried out, during pregnancy, the drug should not be used for a long time and in large quantities, when breastfeeding – do not apply the drug to the mammary glands.
Composition
15 g of cream for external use contain: fusidic acid hemihydrate (in terms of anhydrous acid) – 20 mg, hydrocortisone acetate – 10 mg.
Excipients: butylhydroxyanisole, cetyl alcohol, glycerol 85%, liquid paraffin, potassium sorbate, polysorbate 60, soft white paraffin, 3 M hydrochloric acid, purified water.
Dosage and administration
Cream Fucidin G is applied to the affected area with a thin layer 2 times a day. The course of treatment is 2 weeks.
Overdose
Symptoms: exceeding recommended doses, prolonged use of local glucocorticosteroids on large surfaces can lead to suppression of the function of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal system and the development of symptoms of hypercorticism.
Treatment: gradual discontinuation of the drug is recommended, symptomatic therapy, if necessary, correct the electrolyte balance.
