Pharmacological action

Combined drug, inhibits the development of inflammatory skin reactions, especially of allergic origin, complicated by a bacterial infection, as a result of the combined action of the components, included in the composition of the drug. Oxytetracycline is an antibiotic from the tetracycline group, has a bacteriostatic effect. Active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, Rickettsia spp., Treponema spp., Chlamydia spp., Mycoplasma spp. Hydrocortisone is a glucocorticosteroid that has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, antiexudative and antipruritic effects. It inhibits phagocytosis reduces the synthesis of prostaglandins and leukotrienes by inhibiting the activity of phospholipase A2 and reducing the release of arachidonic acid from cell wall phospholipids. It inhibits the release of interleukins and other cytokines that cause the inflammatory process inhibits the release of histamine and the occurrence of local allergic reactions. Reduces protein synthesis and collagen deposition in the skin, inhibits the development of connective tissue, weakens proliferative processes.

Indications

Dermatitis of the newborn (cystic and exfoliative), infected diaper rash, folliculitis, furunculosis, carbuncle, impetigo, erysipelatous infection infected eczema and wounds, erosion, newborn urticaria, simple and allergic dermatitis, erythematosus erythematosus, seborrhea, seborrhea, seborrhea, seborrhea, seborrhoea and purulent diseases of the external auditory canal, varicose ulcers of the lower leg, burns, frostbite.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, skin tuberculosis, skin tumors, precancerous conditions, mycosis, viral skin diseases (herpes, chickenpox) pregnancy, lactation (when used on large lesions).

Special instructions

During treatment with glucocorticosteroids (GCS), smallpox vaccination should not be carried out and other types of immunization should be planned (due to the immunosuppressive effect of GCS).

In children, application of the drug to large surfaces and under occlusive dressings should be avoided.

If it is necessary to use the drug on the skin of the face, the treatment should be short due to increased absorption and the possibility of side effects.

Composition

Composition per 1 g:

Active ingredient: hydrocortisone acetate – 10.0 mg excipients: petrolatum, lanolin, pentaerythritol dioleate (pentol), stearic acid 95, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybroxy.

Dosage and administration

Topically, externally.

Ointment in an amount of 0.5-1 g is applied with a thin layer on the affected skin areas 1-3 times a day or under a sterile gauze dressing.

The duration of treatment is individual.

Side effects

Rarely possible – allergic reactions, skin irritation, itching, rash. With prolonged use and / or application to large surfaces – systemic side effects of glucocorticosteroids. When applied to the skin of the face – telangiectasias, atrophy of the subcutaneous tissue in the mouth are possible.

Drug Interactions

Cases of interaction or incompatibility with other drugs are not described.

Overdose

There have been no reports of overdose with hyoxyzone ointment.
