Indications

The vaccine is intended for immunization for the prevention and treatment of microsporia and trichophytosis in cats, dogs, fur animals and rabbits.

Contraindications

It is not allowed to vaccinate animals with fever in the second half of pregnancy, as well as patients with infectious and non-infectious diseases. Weakened and sick animals are preliminarily treated for an existing disease, and after recovery they are immunized against dermatophytosis.

Special instructions

The use of the Wackderm vaccine in conjunction with other drugs that can inhibit the immune system of the vaccinated animal is prohibited.

The vaccine in vials with impaired integrity and corking, without labels, as well as with mold, impurities is unsuitable for use and must be destroyed by boiling for 1 hour (also the remainder of the unused vaccine).

Composition

The associated vaccine is an inactivated dermatophyte spore (Microsporum canis, Microsporum gypseum and Trichophyton mentagrophytes). In appearance it is a homogeneous suspension of yellowish-brown color.

The vaccine is packaged in 1 vaccine dose (1 cm3) in bottles hermetically sealed with rubber stoppers, reinforced with aluminum caps, or ampoules hermetically sealed.

Dosage and administration

The vaccine is administered intramuscularly, twice. Injections are carried out in the thigh area, first in one limb, and after 10-14 days in another. A separate sterile needle is used for each animal.

Cats, dogs, fur-bearing animals and rabbits are recommended to be immunized with prophylactic and therapeutic purposes in doses: Cats aged 1-3 months – 0.5 ml, older than 3 months – 1 ml

Dogs from 2 months of age weighing less than 5 kg – 0.5 ml, weighing more than 5 kg – 1 ml

Rabbits 50 days of age – 0.5 ml, older than 50 days of age – 1 ml

Fur animals from 30 to 50 days of age – 0.5 ml, older 50 days of age – 1 ml.

The subsequent preventive revaccination of animals is carried out annually, twice, with an interval of 10-14 days in the doses indicated above.

10 days before vaccination, deworming of the animal is necessary. When vaccinating, observe the general rules of asepsis and antiseptics. Syringes and needles are sterilized by boiling, or disposable syringes are used, the injection site is disinfected with 70% ethanol. Before use, the ampoule or the bottle with the vaccine is heated to body temperature, shaken to ensure uniformity of suspension.

Immunization is carried out regardless of the time of year.

Side effects of

In some animals (mainly dogs), a local reaction in the form of a painful compaction may occur after immunization. The reaction proceeds benignly and disappears spontaneously after 3-5 days. Cats sometimes show increased drowsiness for 2-3 days. Animals exhibiting a post-vaccination reaction are released from stress for 3-5 days.
