Keto plus is a combination antifungal drug.
Ketoconazole is a synthetic derivative of imidazole-dioxalan. It has an antifungal effect.
Active against dermatophytes (Trichophyton spp., Epydermophyton spp., Microsporum spp.), yeast and yeast-like fungi (Candida spp., Malassezia futur / Pityrosporum ovale /).
Zinc pyrithione has an antiproliferative effect on epithelial cells and has some activity against Pityrosporum ovale and Pityrosporum orbiculare, which cause excessive flaking of the skin.
The drug quickly reduces peeling and itching of the scalp associated with dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis.
With external use, the absorption of the active substances of the drug through the skin is negligible. With prolonged use of the drug, the concentrations of ketoconazole and zinc pyrithione in the blood are not determined.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the drug.
Recommendations for use
Shampoo is applied by massaging movements on the hair and skin of the scalp and left for 3-5 minutes, then washed off.
In the treatment of pityriasis versicolor – daily 5-7 days.
In the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis – 2 times a week for 1 month.
For the prevention of pityriasis versicolor – daily for 3-5 days.
For the prevention of seborrheic dermatitis – 1 time per week for 1 month.
Special instructions
When applying shampoo, avoid contact with eyes. If shampoo gets into your eyes, rinse them with water.
When using the drug in patients using topical corticosteroids for local use, to avoid withdrawal, continue using them while using Keto shampoo plus, followed by gradual cancellation of corticosteroids for 2-3 weeks.
In rare cases, when applying Keto shampoo plus, there was an increase in hair loss.
