Pharmacological action

Pharmacodynamics

NSAIDs, a derivative of propionic acid. It has an analgesic, anti-inflammatory effect.

Inhibiting COX-1 and COX-2, inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins. It has anti-bradykinin activity, stabilizes lysosomal membranes. Reduces the release of cytokines, inhibits the activity of neutrophils.

With joint syndrome, it reduces pain in joints at rest and during movement, reduces morning stiffness and swelling of joints, and helps to increase range of motion.

Pharmacokinetics

Absorption

With external use of the gel, an extremely slow transdermal absorption of ketoprofen occurs, which ensures the maintenance of its concentration in inflamed tissues within the therapeutic level for a long time. Absorption into the systemic circulation is negligible. Almost does not cumulate. The bioavailability of the gel is about 5%.

Distribution

Ketoprofen penetrates well into synovial fluid and connective tissue.

Indications

Inflammatory or traumatic lesions of the joints, tendons, ligaments and muscles:

arthritis, periarthritis

tendonitis, tendosynovitis

bursitis

Composition of

1 g of gel contains:

ketoprofen 25 mg.

Excipients:

ethanol (ethyl alcohol) rectified,

nipagin,

carbomer,

trometamol,

lavender oil,

neroli oil,

purified water.

Dosage and administration

The drug is applied to the skin of the painful area 2 times / day, squeezing about 3-5 cm of gel or more from the tube (depending on the area of ​​the painful area), spread in a uniform thin layer and gently rub until completely absorbed.

In order to increase the effectiveness of therapy, it is possible to use a gel under a dry occlusive dressing.

Side effects
