Description
Pharmacological action
Vitamin D3, regulator of calcium and phosphorus metabolism. Enhances the absorption of calcium in the intestine and the reabsorption of phosphorus in the renal tubules.
Promotes the formation of bone skeleton and teeth in children, maintaining the structure of bones.
Necessary for the normal functioning of the parathyroid glands. Participates in the synthesis of lymphokines and ATP.
Indications
Prevention and treatment of rickets, spasmophilia, osteomalacia of various origins, metabolic osteopathy (hypoparathyroidism, pseudohypoparathyroidism), hypocalcemic tetany.
Contraindications
Hypervitaminosis D, hypercalcemia, hypercalciuria, urolithiasis with calcium stones, sarcoidosis, renal failure, hypersensitivity to colecalciferol.
Recommendations for use
Individual, depending on the indications, the dosage form used and the age of the patient.
Special instructions
Can be used in combination with calcium carbonate.
Use with caution in elderly patients, as well as in patients with prolonged immobilization.
When used in children, it is not recommended to exceed a dose of 400,000-600,000 IU per year. For children in conditions of increased insolation, a single and, accordingly, course dose should be reduced.
With simultaneous use with thiazide diuretics, the level of calcium in the blood and urine should be monitored every 3-6 months.
Composition
Drops for oral administration in the form of a transparent or slightly opalescent, colorless or slightly colored liquid with a characteristic odor.

Side effects
Symptoms caused by hypercalcemia and / or hypercalciuria are most likely with hypersensitivity to colecalciferol and overdose: anorexia, nausea, vomiting, headache, disturbances in heart activity, muscle and joint pain, weakness, irritability, weight loss, depression , intense thirst, polyuria, formation of kidney stones, nephrocalcinosis, calcification of soft tissues.
