Pharmacological action
The active substance of the solution Prolatan is prostaglandin latanoprost, which is an analogue of prostaglandin F 2 . Its action leads to a decrease in intraocular pressure, which is achieved by increasing the outflow of aqueous humor (uveoscleral outflow). According to the results of clinical studies, the drug does not have a significant effect on the amount of intraocular moisture produced, and does not affect the blood-phthalmic barrier.

Indications
Increased ophthalmotonus (increased IOP).
Open-angle glaucoma.

With caution, Prolatan solution should be prescribed for: aphakia, pseudo-aphakia and rupture of the posterior capsule of the lens, macular edema (including history) of congenital, neovascular, inflammatory glaucoma, asthma, herpetic keratitis.
Composition
Active ingredient: latanoprost – 0.05 mg.
Auxiliary components: sodium monohydrate, benzalkonium chloride, disodium hydrogen phosphate, sodium chloride, water.

Dosage and administration of
For adult patients and children after 1 year, the standard dosage is one drop of Prolatan solution once daily in the affected eye conjunctival. The optimal effect is achieved if the drug is used in the evening. When skipping a dose, the following is administered at the usual time.

Side effects

Overdose
Conjunctiva and episclera redness, nausea, abdominal pain, sweating, hot flashes, fatigue, dizziness are characteristic of an overdose of Prolatan solution. If necessary, symptomatic therapy should be performed.
