Pharmacological action
Tavanic is an antibacterial drug of the fluoroquinolone group. It has a wide range of antimicrobial effects.
Indications
Acute sinusitis exacerbation of chronic bronchitis community-acquired pneumonia complicated urinary tract infections (including pyelonephritis) uncomplicated urinary tract infections prostatitis infections of the skin and soft tissues septicemia / bacteremia, associated with the above indications, intra-abdominal infection for the complex treatment of drug-resistant forms of tuberculosis.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Levofloxacin is contraindicated in pregnant and lactating women.
Composition
1 tablet contains:
Active ingredient: levofloxacin 500 mg
Excipients: crospovidone methylhydroxypropylcellulose MCC sodium stearyl fumarate macrogol 8000 talc titanium dioxide (E171) iron oxide red (yellow) iron oxide (red).
Dosage and administration
The drug is taken orally at 250-500 mg 1-2 times a day. Doses are determined by the nature and severity of the infection, as well as the sensitivity of the alleged pathogen. Take the tablets inside without chewing and drinking with a sufficient amount of liquid (from 0.5 to 1 cup), before meals or at any time between meals. The instructions for use should be strictly adhered to, as otherwise Tavanic may cause an inadequate effect.
Drug Interaction
Reduces the effect by reducing gastrointestinal absorption and systemic concentration: sucralfate, magnesium and aluminum-containing antacids, iron salts, zinc-containing multivitamins, didanosine, so it is necessary to observe at least 2 hours between taking these agents and levofloxacin.
When Tavanic and theophylline are used concurrently, careful monitoring of theophylline levels and appropriate dose adjustments are required.
Careful monitoring of MHO, prothrombin time and other coagulation indicators is required, monitoring for possible bleeding symptoms with the simultaneous use of Tavanic and warfarin.
NSAIDs may increase the risk of CNS stimulation and seizures.
Overdose
Symptoms: Based on data from toxicological studies conducted in animals, the most important expected symptoms of an acute overdose of Tavanic ® are CNS symptoms (impaired consciousness, including dizziness, dizziness.
Effects from the CNS were observed during post-marketing administration of the drug in overdose, including confusion, convulsions, hallucinations and tremors.
The development of nausea and erosion of the gastrointestinal mucosa is possible.
In clinical and pharmacological studies conducted with levofloxacin doses in excess of therapeutic doses, QT prolongation has been shown.
Treatment: Close monitoring of the patient, including ECG monitoring, is required in the event of an overdose. Treatment is symptomatic. In the case of an acute overdose of Tavanik ® tablets, gastric lavage and antacids have been shown to protect the gastric mucosa. Levofloxacin is not excreted by dialysis (hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and permanent ambulatory peritoneal dialysis). There is no specific antidote.
