Pharmacological properties
Emoxipin reduces capillary permeability, strengthens the vascular wall, stabilizes the cell membrane, inhibits aggregation, reduces blood coagulation and viscosity, has antiaggregational and antihypoxic effect.
Pharmacokinetics: The drug quickly penetrates the tissues of the eye (even in conditions of tissue edema and impaired blood supply), where it is deposited and metabolized. Five metabolites of emoxipin were found, which are represented by desalkylated and conjugated products of its conversion. It binds to plasma proteins by an average of 42%.
Indications
Treatment and prevention of inflammation, burns of the cornea
Treatment of hemorrhages in the anterior chamber of the eye
Treatment and prevention of hemorrhages in the sclera in the elderly
Thrombosis of the central vein of the retina and its branches sard retinopathy.
Contraindications
The use of the drug is contraindicated in case of individual intolerance, pregnancy and lactation, children under 18 years of age.
Special instructions
Rinse the pipette with freshly boiled water before use.
If you need to use other drops at the same time, emoxypine should be instilled last, after the previous drops are completely absorbed (no less than 10-15 minutes).
Composition
1 ml of the solution contains:
Active ingredient: 10.0 mg methyl ethyl pyridinol hydrochloride (emoxypine).
Excipients: sodium sulfite anhydrous, sodium benzoate, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, sodium hydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate, water-soluble methyl cellulose, water for injection.
Dosage and administration
The drug is instilled in the conjunctival cavity 1-2 drops 2-3 times a day. The course of treatment is 3-30 days. If necessary and with good tolerability of the drug, the course of treatment can be extended up to 6 months or repeated 2-3 times a year.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE DROP COVERS
1. Remove the aluminum cap and rubber stopper from the vial.
2. Put on the bottle a polyethylene dropper cap, which is attached to the bottle, having previously removed the packaging from it.
3. Turn the bottle upside down and drip drops by pressing the dropper cap body.
4. Close the dropper cap with a small cap, tearing the three membranes at the bottom of the dropper cap.
Side effects
Perhaps a burning sensation, itching, short-term conjunctival hyperemia, rarely – the development of local allergic reactions.
Drug Interactions
The emoxipin solution should not be mixed with other drug solutions.

In a dark place at a temperature not exceeding 25 degrees.
