Pharmacological action
Macrovit contains a complex of vitamins that are involved in numerous biochemical processes of the body. Vitamin A (retinol) is necessary for the biosynthesis of the photosensitive retinal pigment. Vitamin D (colecalciferol) regulates calcium absorption. Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) contributes to the absorption of iron and is involved in many redox processes in the body. Vitamin E (tocopherol) is a physiological antioxidant that protects cell membranes from damage and preserves their functional activity.
Indications
Increased need for vitamins:
with increased physical and / or mental stress
during intense exercise
with irregular and unbalanced nutrition (including dieting, during a seasonal lack of fresh vegetables and fruits, and also against the background of decreased appetite in the elderly, in people with nicotine and alcohol addiction)
during pregnancy and during breastfeeding.
Contraindications
hypervitaminosis A and D
children under 6 years of age
hypersensitivity to Macrovit components.
The drug should not be taken in patients with glucose / galactose malabsorption syndrome, deficiency of lactase or sucrose / isomaltase and congenital fructose intolerance.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
During pregnancy and during breastfeeding, taking Macrovit is possible only on the recommendation of a doctor.

Dosage and administration of
Macrovit is taken orally, for adults and children over 12 years old – 2-3 lozenges per day, for children: 6-10 years old – 1 lozenge per day, 10-12 years – 1-2 lozenges per day. The course is 20-30 days, repeated – after 1-3 months.
Side effects
Allergic reactions possible.
Long-term use of the drug in large doses can lead to hypervitaminosis A and D.
Macrovit contains glycerol, which in high doses can cause headache, digestive disorders (diarrhea).
The patient should be informed that in case of allergic reactions, it is necessary to stop taking the drug and consult a doctor.
Drug Interaction
It is not recommended to co-administer with other multivitamin complexes to avoid overdose.
Overdose
Prolonged administration of very high doses can lead to hypervitaminosis of vitamins A and D, however, the chance of overdose on Macrovit ® tablets is minimal.
