Pharmacological action
Pinosol has an anti-inflammatory, decongestant effect, reduces the viscosity of the secretion of the mucous membrane of the respiratory tract. It shows antibacterial activity against certain strains of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria (S. pyogenes, S. aureus, S. epidermidis, M. luteus, B. cereus, E. coli), as well as the antifungal effect against yeast and mold fungi (Candida albicans , Aspergillus niger).
Indications
acute rhinitis
chronic atrophic rhinitis
acute and chronic inflammatory diseases of the mucous membranes of the nose and nasopharynx, accompanied by dryness of the mucous membranes of the nose
state after surgery in an ambulatory setting and if necessary.
Contraindications
hypersensitivity to the components of the drug
allergic rhinitis
children’s age (up to 2 years).
Use during pregnancy and lactation
It is possible to use Pinosol during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding) according to indications.
Dosage and Administration
Topically.
For adults, the drug is instilled on the first day, 1-2 drops in each nasal passage at intervals of 1-2 hours, on the following days, 1-2 drops in each nasal passage 3-4 times a day for children – 1-2 drops 3-4 times a day or use a cotton swab.
It is possible to use the drug for inhalation, for which 2 ml (50 drops) are instilled into the inhaler. Inhalations are recommended to be carried out 2-3 times a day.
Duration of treatment – 5-7 days.
Side effects
Local reactions: itching, burning sensation, hyperemia and swelling of the nasal mucosa.
