Pharmacological action
An infusion of orthosiphon stamen leaves (kidney tea) has a moderate diuretic and antispasmodic effect, and also has choleretic properties, increases the secretory activity of the gastric mucosa.
The diuretic effect is accompanied by urinary excretion of chlorides, urea and uric acid.
Indications
In complex therapy for edema resulting from impaired renal function, chronic heart failure.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the drug, pregnancy, lactation, children under 12 years of age.

Kidney tea is effective for long-term use (for 4-6 months).

Dosage and administration
