Pharmacological action
Cefekon ® N is a combined preparation that has analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effects.
Naproxen and salicylamide are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), the mechanism of action of which is associated with inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis and effect on the thermoregulation center in the hypothalamus.
Caffeine has a psychostimulating, analeptic and antispasmodic effect on smooth muscles.
Indications
As an anesthetic for mild to moderate pain: neuralgia, myalgia, sciatica, lumbago degenerative-dystrophic diseases of the musculoskeletal system (osteochondrosis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis) headache and toothache, migraine, dysmenorrhea, migraine
As an antipyretic agent: febrile syndrome in colds, infectious, inflammatory diseases.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of Tsefekon N, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum (acute phase), bleeding, severe renal and / or liver failure, hypertension, organic diseases of the cardiovascular system, chronic heart failure, increased irritability, insomnia, angle-closure glaucoma, bronchial obstruction (including due to the use of NSAIDs), elderly and children (up to 16 years) age, pregnancy, period of breastfeeding.
Special instructions
If you experience itching or discomfort in the rectum, you must enter an enema with sunflower oil (in the amount of 1 tablespoon) and temporarily stop using the drug.
Composition
One suppository contains: active ingredients: caffeine – 50 mg, naproxen – 75 mg, salicylamide – 600 mg
excipients: solid fat (Vitepsol, brands H 15, W 35, Supposir, brands NA 15, NAS 50) – to obtain a suppository weighing 2.20 g.
Dosage and administration
Cefekon N is used rectally (deeply) after a cleansing enema or spontaneous bowel movement, 1 supp. 1-3 times a day. After the introduction of the suppository, it is necessary to maintain a horizontal position for 30-40 minutes.
Duration of taking Cefecon H without consulting a doctor is no more than 5 days when prescribed as an anesthetic and 3 days as an antipyretic.
Side effects
Side effects are mild and do not require discontinuation of therapy or any medical procedures: allergic reactions, dizziness, agitation, drowsiness, slowing the speed of psychomotor reactions, tinnitus, tachycardia, increased blood pressure, thrombocytopenia, granulocytopenia, granulocytopenia aplastic anemia, impaired liver and / or kidney function, itching and pain in the rectum.
Drug Interactions
The hypotensive effect of ACE inhibitors and beta-blockers is reduced when taking Cefecon N.
When taken with sulfonylureas (oral hypoglycemic agents, anticoagulants), enhances their effect.
Overdose
Overdose when used in recommended doses is not possible.
In case of an overdose, side effects may appear and intensify: bronchospasm, tachycardia, heart failure, dizziness, pain and itching in the rectum, increased pressure, dizziness. Symptoms such as diarrhea, tremors, hyperthermia, tinnitus, arrhythmias, agitation, drowsiness, frequent urination, may also occur. irritability, seizures, anxiety, confusion, gastrointestinal bleeding, dehydration, headache, delirium, disorientation, tactile sensitivity.
It is necessary to stop taking the drug, conduct symptomatic therapy, which should be aimed at maintaining heart activity and reducing blood pressure. Perhaps the appearance of discomfort or itching in the rectum. In this case, an enema with sunflower oil should be administered.
