Pharmacological action

Erinit – organic nitrate, antianginal agent.

According to pharmacological properties it is close to nitroglycerin, however, compared with it, it is more slowly absorbed by the mucous membranes and has a slower, but longer-lasting effect. The effect when taken orally occurs after 30-45 minutes. The duration of the effect is 4-5 hours.

Indications

– For the prevention of angina attacks (for the relief of angina attacks, the drug is of little use due to the slow onset of the effect.).

– In the treatment of chronic heart failure.

Contraindications

– Severe arterial hypotension.

– Collapse.

– Shock.

– Acute myocardial infarction occurring with hypotension.

– Hemorrhagic stroke.

Dosage and administration of

Erinit is taken orally (1 hour before a meal) at 0.01-0.02 g (1-2 tablets).

To prevent nightly attacks of angina, 0.02 g at bedtime is prescribed. The course of treatment usually lasts 2-4 weeks. A second course is prescribed intermittently, the duration of which depends on the course of the disease.

With prolonged use of the drug, tolerance may develop.
